We really enjoyed a special experience on Herve’s barge. A beautiful, quiet setting (with the sounds of frogs and birds!), the barge was only a short scenic walk to the heart of the old city of Metz. Though bikes were available, we ended up walking everywhere and taking the tram and thoroughly enjoying this very beautiful city. We slept very soundly on the comfortable bed and ate two of our three dinners up on top of the deck as the sun was setting. It was a welcome change from some of the city areas we had been visiting. The pictures show exactly what the living quarters look like and though small (it is a boat after all), it had everything we needed, including A/C that cooled it down very quickly even on an extremely hot day. We had a little problem with the internet, but Herve was VERY quick to respond and make it workable for us. His general easy going attitude plus breakfast supplies for the first morning helped us feel even more welcome!
